Black Family Accession

For my SSMF Project I delved into the intricacies and intimate conversations/memories that Black families hold with one another about their traditions through my Journalistic and Afro-American background that was achieved during my undergraduate collegiate years.

I mainly plan to focus on three key factors including family time, cuisine, and music to show how each member of my family individually holds memories with one another.

My family will be the main topic of focus presenting the mindset and lifestyle of a family from New Jersey who resided in a predominately the suburban area.

I touch base on the evocation of memories...i.e., what is a family trip you will forever
remember? What is your favorite meal? Then I explored deeper into why that meal has become so important or why that memory is consistently instilled in their minds.

It is very sense orientated so I asked questions about most distinguished tastes, sights, touch, hearing, and smell in order to evoke those memories. I will also share a brief video about my perspective as the second oldest in my family while sharing the history of my family and how it has assisted me in my academic and professional journey thus far, as well as personal interests and hobbies.

Their responses are entirely based upon their reactions to the questions I ask...which are vague in nature so as to gather their truest response...Sort of like the game where you say a word and they say the first thing that comes to their mind.
